"During the carnival anything goes" or "Per carnaval tot s'hi val", say the inhabitants of Vilanova i la Geltrú in Catalan and, thereby, demonstrate their loyalty to the origins of this festival. The popularity of the carnival largely stems from the fact that it is a few days when people, hidden behind masks, can turn the established order upside down.
The carnival of Vilanova i la Geltrú has a long history and is characterized by satirical and also erotic elements. As of tradtition condoms are handed out and this year the 'Condom Store of Vilanova' joins the celebration. An especially designed sample pack will be distributed for free to our customers but, occasionally, also out in the streets. The call "Fes l'amor, no la guerra!" - "Make love, not war", in Catalan - is quite suitable for a carnival which has candy war as its main event.
We have already been asked if we - as an evil but typical carnival joke – have punctured the merchandize. That is obviously not the case, since we are proud to represent RFSU - quality condoms manufactured in Sweden.
