The first two major fires in Catalonia this summer broke out in Baix Penedès – one burnt down forest covering 10 hectares in el Vendrell while while another outbreak caused the same result on 6 hectares in Calafell. Neither fire required for any people to be evacuated.
The sad truth is that almost all the forest fires we see here every summer could be avoided if we all used more seny, Catalan for common sense.
