
Be it a carnival with hoards of thinly dressed boys and girls or a New York exhibition to the honour of Martin Luther King - for all its fame, Sitges never stops actively selling itself.
And here in Vilanova we just to laugh about it. In fact a quite common defence mechanism among people who want to be something more, but does not have the energy to go all the way.

I've been to the Sitges carnival several times. I have something to say, and I don't intend to offend anyone: That's gay.

Please, excuse my late reaction here.
Well, I must say that I disagree. There certainly are gay elements in the "disbauxa" but much less than at least I expected.
To me, the carnival of Sitges is above all a show, beautiful to observe. And to give the "sitgetans" even more credit - the level of participation is impressive. In how many other European cities do you see so many people (above all women, mind you) dance around half-naked in the streets during cold February evenings?
