The ajuntament of Calafell (Baix Penedès) has decided to remove a bicycle lane in the street along the sea front. It was inaugurated as recently as Easter this year, but there have already been two accidents. Bikes will now be allowed back on the passeig Marítim, although that risks to create inconvenience for the pedestrians.
To me, this seems to be a wise decision: I would not use a bicycle lane where I do not feel safe, let alone if I had my children with me.
